More about Ginkgo Biloba
This oldest known living fossil, more than 5,000 years old, is native to China. The tree has an average life span of 1,000 years. Ginkgo Biloba belongs to the Ginkgoaceae (Ginkgo family) and is a large shade tree. It can grow up to 100 feet or more in height with a trunk more than 8 feet in diameter. It produces foul-smelling fruits that are inedible, and ivory-colored seeds that have long been used as food in Asia.
