What is Breu Branco?

Into the formula of this incense goes the resin of Protium heptaphyllum, or Breu Branco, which is commonly used by the cosmetic industry for perfumes, soaps, and toiletries for its pleasant fragrance that comes from a component known as limonene. This component, according to studies, provides insect repellent action, as well as analgesic and antiinflammatory properties that can be used to treat arthritis, throat pain, and headaches. 

The White Breu tree is native to the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, and used primarily for purifying and cleansing purposes, as it is believed that it is a source of protection, and a beacon for positive vibrations all the while repelling negative energy. The scent of the smoke from its burning resin creates a very potent and earthly, slightly sweet scent that lingers in the air.
